Can the battery be removed for charging?

Battery removal depends on the model.

For Monaco
The battery is removable. You can take it out for charging indoors and lock it securely back into the frame for riding.

For Vienna, Amsterdam, Brussels, London and Milano
The battery is elegantly integrated into the lower frame tube and is not removable for everyday charging. Charging is done via the charging port at the bottom of the seat tube. Because our bikes are very light (from 14.5 kg), they can be carried or rolled easily to a socket. The battery can be removed by a technician for service or replacement.

Why we use an integrated battery (on most models)
A fixed battery position helps keep the bike lighter and extremely well balanced, with a stable weight distribution for a safer, more confident ride—especially when starting, stopping, getting on and off. The lightness and balance also make the bike enjoyable to ride even with little or no assistance. In addition, the battery is better protected from weather and everyday impacts, and the integrated design makes it much less attractive and harder to steal.
